About Pride Pals Initiative

Established in 2023, Pride Pals Initiative is a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating an inclusive and safe space for fellow LGBTQ+ community members and allies to express themselves in Malaysia. 

With Malaysia not being the best country to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, it does not stop us from finding ourselves within a community. At Pride Pals Initiative, we believe in the right of every individual to express themselves freely, free from discrimination or prejudice. By embracing the colours of the rainbow, we aim to create a community where acceptance and understanding flourish. Here, we welcome the many views of the LGBTQ+ community and love who we are.

Our mission is to give a voice to the community by sharing the multiple stories of others and raising the rainbow flag, not surrendering but waving in support of our beloved members of the LGBTQ+ community. We offer a range of different types of stories, from profile features to how-to articles, sharing the prismatic experiences our fellow queers and allies are willing to share with everyone. 

Not only do we give a voice, but we also encompass educational workshops, mental health resources, and social events aimed at developing a sense of confidence and belonging. Through partnerships with local and international organisations, we plan to connect our fellow Malaysian queers and allies with people just like them from all over the world. We are increasing the size of our safe space and getting to hear the many voices of people on the other end of the rainbow. 

Our team welcomes the many dedicated individuals from various backgrounds, united in creating a safe environment for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies across the country. By coming together, we can embrace the strength of unity to confront prejudice, break boundaries, and enable ourselves to experience joy.
